The Royal Reviews

Celtic Life International spoke with the young and young at heart in attendance at the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo in Halifax in recent days. The reviews are in, and the opinions are unanimous!

“I brought my Mom and Dad this year and they thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, especially my father because he has been a Navy man most of his life.” – Gregory, 32, Halifax

“This is our first time at the Tattoo and we were totally blown away. The whole production was spectacular; the music, the costumes, the dancing – we had a fantastic time and we’ll be back again next year.” – Carolyn, 40, Charlottetown

“My little brother liked the cannon race, but my favourite part was The Flying Grandpas, especially the guy in his underwear!” – Devon, 9, Dartmouth

“I served in the military for 29 years and I have never experienced such a moving tribute to our soldiers. It felt wonderful to stand up and be recognized for my contribution, and I was close to tears when they played the National Anthem during the closing ceremony.” – Harold, 71, Mahone Bay

“I’d never been to the Tattoo before and I honestly had no idea what to expect. I really, really enjoyed it though – more than I thought I would actually. A very pleasant surprise and I’d see it again in a heartbeat.” – Karen, 26, Halifax

“It was a great afternoon out with the kids; you just can’t beat it for quality family entertainment. We all laughed a lot and had a wonderful time.” – Deborah, 36, Bedford

“Well, this is our very first date, so I’d say he’s made a pretty good impression on me so far.” – Tracy, 19, Halifax

“Now I know what all the hype is about; the show lived up to its billing that’s for sure! It was totally worth the 2-1/2 hour trip down for us.” – Paul, 51, Moncton

“Me and my friends thought the Army stuff was pretty cool, like when they dropped down from the ceiling on those ropes and the gun races and the stuff about Titanic was awesome too.” – Jason, 10, Fall River

“I’m a piper myself, and this is a must-see event every year for me. I think this is my 11th Tattoo, and it is the best one I’ve seen so far. They really outdid themselves this time around.” – Kevin, 56, Antigonish
